How do you prepare with US (the bride and groom)?
You'll be given tools, advice, timelines and planners to build your dream reception from start to finish. This will include your ceremony, cocktail, dinner and dancing music, traditions, and most importantly, the unique PLAN FOR FUN at your reception!
Our brides' desires range anywhere from sophisticated and classy grand entrances TO huge intros where the entire bridal party dances into the room! We have brides that want wild and crazy song choices for their themes and traditions, and others that choose upbeat, yet tame music for their own. Some brides will do choreographed dances, while others shy away from the spotlight all together, and may ask us to shorten the length of their songs, combine them, or avoid these traditions.
No two weddings are alike...and we give you the tools to paint your own picture!

The average A Bride's DJ will DJ receptions almost every single weekend during the busy wedding season. It's important to do something often if you want to stay on top of your game! We don't believe that proms, graduation parties and other non-wedding events can prepare a DJ for a wedding reception. Since we specialize in weddings,you'll find that we're more experienced than the typical DJ. Did you know that most of the DJs you call upon during the hiring process have performed for less than 20 weddings? No wonder we've all been to so many bad weddings!
So how many weddings have your DJs performed for?
While we require over 50 weddings to work for us, every DJ on our current staff has performed for over 100. I guess you can call us extra picky!

Is there a limit to the amount of music that can be requested?
Every one of your requests will be honored! We give you a detailed wedding reception planner to complete, and this allows you the opportunity to tell us your ABSOLUTE must-plays, do-not plays and suggestions. Your wish is our command!
What is your usual attire?
We wear a formal black tuxedo or sharp black suit. No sequins. No musical notes. Nothing weird or corny. Polished and professional!
How do you guarantee your services?
While no one WANTS to end up in a situation where they want their money back, we still feel it's only right to offer a guarantee on our services. With us, you won't have to fear things like DJs that don't show up, get drunk or arrive late. The thing is...it would never happen here. Ever. We simply don't hire those guys and our magnifying glass is much too powerful!
How do you guarantee your services?

Can we get-to-know our potential DJ before booking?
Absolutely!
Can we submit a do-not play list?
Yes! Please! We want this to be a direct reflection of YOU and what YOU LIKE, not the bride we played for last week! No cookie-cutter mentality here! Our planning tools allow you to create the reception of YOUR dreams!
Do you bring your own equipment?
Absolutely! And back-up equipment, too!
What (if any) special equipment, such as disco balls or lighting, is offered with your service?
We bring lighting that is WEDDING-appropriate and enhances your dance floor area. No strobes to blind you, bubbles to slide around in or fog to make you gag.
How much time do you usually need to set up? Do you require anything from us?
We arrive at least 1.5 hours in advance to set up. We do request a 6-8 ft skirted banquet table, which is typically provided by your banquet facility.
Do you have any extra space requirements?
No extra space needed! We're easy to work with!
Do you have a sign or banner that you use at events?
No signs or banners! Tacky, tacky, tacky! This isn't our opportunity to market ourselves. Besides, we'll do such a great job that we'd hope you'll tell everyone you know!
Do you usually emcee the event or talk between songs?
We provide professional MC service. This means that we are confident and charismatic in the microphone, and make the announcements that need to be made to help your night go by smoothly. We're fun and outgoing when the time is right, but not the "star of the show".
How would you motivate the crowd if no one is dancing?
Our experience with weddings does the trick! Our DJs perform at weddings almost every single weekend, which means that they know your crowd, what works and doesn't work, and how to time everything so it all comes together perfectly. There are no magical words that can take the place of wedding experience and knowing all of the "A" songs!
With that said, we believe the first step to enjoying your own wedding, is to have realistic expectations about the night. Dancers dance, non-dancers don't dance and those that sometimes dance, will dance with the right DJ or the right alcohol. There are several ways to enjoy a wedding, and you should measure it by the laughter, smiles and overall buzz that is obviously shared throughout the room. And, of course, we all want to hear those magic words, "This was the best wedding I've ever been to!" That's our goal just as much as yours, and we provide the tools to make that happen!

What is your policy on taking breaks? If you require a meal break, do you require that we provide a meal?
No breaks! No great DJ wants to walk away from the magic they are creating on the dance floor! With that said, we know which songs to play if we have to step away for a minute. Yes, we do ask that you provide us with a vendor meal, as we arrive super early to set up, and will leave an hour after you and your guests have gone. Dinner music will be played during this time.
Will you arrange for recorded music to play during your breaks?
Again, no real breaks! But yes, there will always music playing. No dead air ever!
What is your backup plan in case you become unavailable on the day of the event?
We are creating the back-up DJ network. At this time, we have over 200 DJs that have signed up!
Do you charge for travel expenses? If yes, how much do you charge?
We are SUPER-MOBILE DJs! This means that we can typically travel within 1.5 hours of the metropolitan area, with no additional charge. Please ask about availability.
What is the required deposit to secure your services?
We accept credit cards and keep our deposit fairly low for your convenience. Please inquire within.
